4.11.06 - Senator Fern Shubert (R) - Endorses Rep. Rhodes

North Mecklenburg, NC. - Today, Senator Fern Shubert (R) -Former Senate Republican Whip, Representative, and N.C. Gubernatorial candidate joined the growing list of fellow Republicans giving Rep. John Rhodes (R) Mecklenburg her official endorsement, issuing the following statement:

"Dear Republican Primary Voter:

"It is not my practice to do endorsements, but Rep. Rhodes is under attack because he has refused to play ball with the special interests who expect special treatment."

I know first hand that Rep. Rhodes is one of the hardest working representatives in Raleigh and that he works for the public. Not the special interests."

"Supporters of good government should support John Rhodes."

Rhodes thanked his former colleague in the fight for good government in the following statement:

"I want to thank Senator Shubert for her support, if anyone knows how hard we've been fighting for the people of my district and all North Carolinians to protect them from the Raleigh crowd, it's Fern."

"I look forward to continuing to work with her to take back our state from the special interest elites who are working against the taxpayers and families of our state."

U.S. Rep. Sue Myrick (R) among other Republican officials offered her official endorsement last week.

Republican primary voters may vote on May 2nd, 2006 at their local precinct for Representative John W. Rhodes.
